The Sidereal Chronicles

The Sidereal Chronicles is a series of space opera novels inspired by Soviet and American retrofuturism, upcoming technologies, Y2K futurism, Japanese cyberpunk, hard science fiction, and political thriller. In a balkanized galaxy of rising and falling interstellar nationstates, each multi-species civilization forms its own alliances, faces its own internal and external conflicts, and experiences cycles of decay and renewal. As the balance of power within the galaxy shifts based upon these factors, plenty of opportunities for regional hegemony exist.

An interstellar union known as the Kuniĝo de Stelsistemmoj was formed from an alliance between humanity and seven other interstellar states in order to foster economic growth, political solidarity, technological progress, and coordinated military defence. Since founding, the KS drew attention as a potential utopia due to the precision taken to build the state, thriving interplanetary economy, high quality of life on most planets, and social equality.

Despite these qualities, growing rebel movements and cyclical warfare with a neighboring interstellar state threaten its very existence, and different factions question whether or not the KS is the utopia its thought to be.

Paying homage to franchises such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Lord of the Rings, it follows the paths of astronauts, soldiers, artificial intelligence programs, rebels, smugglers, royals, and pirates as they seek to support, reform, or entirely eliminate the KS.
