The Malonic Sequence

The Malonic Sequence is a series of short stories about an alien invasion, but with an unconventional twist. In the tradition of War of the Worlds and The Three-Body Problem, it follows the entire arc of an alien invasion from when the invaders arrive, the war between the invaders and natives, and the elimination of the oppressors by the oppressed.

For centuries, the Malonics wondered if there were other civilizations like them in the universe. After years of sending radio messages into the universe, the Malonics began to doubt in the existance of life outside of their solar system. Then, a response came back.

A species known as Humanity portrayed itself as a race of watchers who preside over the Empire of Sol, spreading the blessings of their advanced technology to whomever joins their interstellar empire. With the Malonic homeworld of Malonius recovering from a nuclear war and its great powers engaging in a ruthless space race, it was the prime candidate for admission into the Empire of Sol.

Then, Humanity invaded the weak Malonius, the voluntary admission narrative a charade to extend Humanity's influence in the galaxy. For four generations, Humanity oppressed the Malonics. While they did receive Human technology, they remained economically backward and ferociously subjugated by genetically-engineered monsters.

Out of this oppression rose Mathezr Bresak, a Malonic rebel fighting for his species' freedom. As he faces the enemy directly, will he be able to succeed in his mission?
